Static Shelf is an independent Kentucky-based shop for records, CDs, cassettes, and music collectibles.

The shop began with a focus on Southern and regional hip-hop cassettes—especially releases that are overlooked, difficult to find, or at risk of disappearing into private collections. Over time, Static Shelf will expand into more genres and formats, including emo, hardcore, electronic music, vinyl, CDs, and artist merchandise.

Static Shelf is built around careful curation, honest descriptions, and respect for physical media. Opened cassettes are play-tested whenever possible, condition issues are disclosed clearly, and inventory is selected with collectors and listeners in mind.

The goal is not simply to move products quickly. It is to help recordings find the right homes, preserve the stories attached to physical media, and build a shop people can trust.

Static Shelf opened in 2026 and is independently owned and operated.
